The discussion highlighted how cricket is not merely a contest of bat and ball but also a reflection of history, changing sporting traditions and the shared enthusiasm of people across generations. The familiar thrill of a boundary, the strategy behind every shot and the anticipation of spectators have all contributed to the game’s extraordinary popularity.
Dr Trivedi also appreciated the broader vision behind the Rashtriya Cricket League, where the excitement of competitive cricket is linked with a larger social purpose. He recognised the value of initiatives that use a popular sport to bring people together and encourage public engagement with humanitarian causes.
The league, founded by Arvind Kumar, aims to make cricket a vehicle for social responsibility through its association with Hunger Free Bharat. Expressing his gratitude, Arvind Kumar said that the participation and encouragement of distinguished public figures strengthened the league’s commitment to its larger mission.
“Cricket teaches us teamwork, discipline, perseverance and the importance of playing for a common goal. Through RCL, we want to extend these values beyond the field and inspire people to work together for a hunger-free society,” he said.
The event demonstrated how sporting platforms can create opportunities not only for competition and entertainment but also for meaningful conversations about history, culture and social responsibility.
