The Affordable Organic Store Takes the Lead in Green Living with Monthly Plantation Drives in Hyderabad
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Hyderabad, (Telangana), [India], November 12, 2024: The Affordable Organic Store is taking Hyderabad by storm with its monthly plantation drives, inspiring locals to reconnect with nature and contribute to reforestation. Founded in 2020 by eco-conscious entrepreneurs Shivam Gupta and Ishika Garg, this sustainable gardening brand is turning urban spaces green while educating people on eco-friendly practices.

Shivam, an NIT Calicut graduate with over a decade of startup experience, and Ishika, a dedicated environmentalist, started The Affordable Organic Store to promote urban gardening as a means to reduce pollution and foster greener cities. Together, they’ve built a community of over 3 lakh gardeners across India and offer an unmatched variety of seeds, plants, and organic gardening products, all thoughtfully designed for the urban gardener.

Each month, The Affordable Organic Store hosts a unique plantation drive at Akshay Kalpa farms in Hyderabad. This family-friendly event allows participants to plant trees without the hassle of long-term care, as the farm team manages the upkeep. The drive begins with a welcome drink and orientation, followed by guided planting sessions. After planting, volunteers enjoy a farm-to-table lunch and a tour showcasing sustainable farming practices, including organic milk production, biogas systems, and raised bed farming. For attendees, it’s more than an event—it’s a mini eco-education on sustainable living.

In just four plantation drives, over 250 volunteers have planted 450+ trees, with a goal of reaching 1,000 by year’s end. The Affordable Organic Store envisions this movement expanding to other cities, such as Patna, Bangalore, and Pune, aiming to host at least 100 volunteers monthly.

This initiative offers individuals and families a meaningful way to contribute to the environment. It’s also an opportunity for corporate teams to engage in eco-conscious activities together. The Affordable Organic Store invites interested companies to collaborate or sponsor future drives, making it easy for employees to give back to the community.

The store’s thoughtfully curated gardening products further their mission to bring gardening into urban homes. Seed and manure packets are portioned for pot-sized gardening, eliminating waste and storage issues for city gardeners. Their selection includes exotic plant varieties, including a popular species from Peru, with over 700 items available online and free shipping on orders above Rs 150.

Through their plantation drives and extensive gardening resources, The Affordable Organic Store is making sustainable living accessible to everyone. With the next plantation drive scheduled for December 08, 2024, Shivam, Ishika, and their team invite all to join their journey toward a greener planet. Sign up on their website to be part of Hyderabad’s growing green movement.
